We are making progress on the kitchen!

Well, we have gone through lots of hammering, nailing, and even a jack hammer to get to the point we are at in the kitchen! I think it is a good time to few more pictures. Since my last post on the kitchen we have cabinet frames installed, the random door to the neighbor's driveway has been closed in, they took out the concrete step by the door and they actually are preping to brick the outside of the house as I type. Seems that we have a "special" brick on our house that is no longer made. After searching we found brick from a house that was torn down that matches the same scratch brick pattern. Mind you the color is a bit off. We'll eventually paint the house and you won't be able to tell, but for now our neighbor will have to look at the two tones wall when she drives in and out of her driveway. She's already put her house on the market, so who cares. Wonder if she just didn't like us...

They say that this week they will prep all the walls and cabinets for for painting, hang new crown molding, and hopefully somewhere out there the granite guy is cutting our counter tops! He measured for them last week. Our appliances should be in on June 4th. I am still crossing my fingers we'll be done by the end of June!

On Saturday night we went to the Ranger game with Kristi, Chris, Emily and Kevin. Kristi and Chris left Dixie at our house to play with Abby. Little did we know they wanted to play in the construction zone! When we got home we found that they busted through the plastic and were enjoying the space themselves! See, the remodel is fun for all!

We're Having a Baby!

Yes, it is true! Chris and I are expecting and are very, very excited about it! We just had our 2nd doctors appointment today. I am 13 weeks pregnant and we are due on November 15, 2007. Yes, for all you Aggie fans that is 8 days before the A&M/t.u. football game (Chris noticed that right away!). We are planning on finding out if the baby is a boy or girl and should be able to find out at my next sonogram on June 20th! I keep having dreams it is a boy, but who knows what that means!

Here is the first pictures of our peanut. This is at 9 weeks. He/she is hanging out upside down and measured in at 2.5 cm long.

Here is a picture from today's visit - at 13 weeks. We also have it on video. If you want to come visit and watch it - I am quite sure we'll be up for it over and over again! We saw hands move and heads turn a little. The baby's heard beat is a very fast (and normal) 168 beats a minute.

This one is a close up - so just a face profile. As of today, he /she is 6.5 cm long or the size of a lemon (for those of you that need a tangible reference - Heather!).

You can see the baby's forehead on the right, nose in the middle and chin!

The Kitchen is Gone!

Yes, that is right folks. After over a year of talking about it and a couple months of really planning it, our kitchen is gone. The beautiful tomato red Formica - gone. The strangely placed 1970's Jenn Air range - gone. The glass door pantry - gone too. And most exciting - the wall that divides the kitchen and dining room - gone! Over the next couple months they will rebuild the kitchen and we are so excited to see how it turns out! In the meantime, anyone that wants to cook for us (or wants me to come over and cook for them!) please let us know. We are living out of our laundry room with a fridge and microwave. Kinda like being in a dorm again.We will use the blog to post pictures and events of this exciting summer! Once the kitchen is complete, we will have to have a party to use the new digs!

Oh, we will miss that red...
