Library

We have the cutest little library in Lake Highlands - Launa's Little Library! We've been meaning to visit for some time and finally made it there last week with our friends Amy and Christopher. Will LOVES books and he loved running around the library, playing with the puzzles, looking at all the books, and most of all standing on the stool to check out books. Ms. K, the lady who runs this library from her home, was so sweet and patient with the boys. You can tell she just loves being around the kids. Next time we go back we will get Will's official library card. Such a big boy!

Introduction to the color PINK!

We were locked out of our house a couple Saturdays ago due to our power being out (long story) and we had to go to Kristi, Chris and Avery's house for a while. We didn't have any PJ's for Will and Avery was happy to loan him some! :) I think Kristi was just as excited to put him in pink. He kept saying "Avery" as we put them on him and clearly knew they were not his. Even when he sees this picture, he says "Avery?". Pretty funny. We got home about midnight and Chris really thought we should change Will's diaper before we put him down for the night. I think that was just a tactic to put him back in some blue PJ's! Thanks Poteets for loaning us your bathtub, pink PJ's and pack n play for a while! Will says THANK YOU too!

32 Weeks and a new Birth Date scheduled!

As of yesterday, I am 32 weeks pregnant.  I have to say that I am feeling VERY pregnant these days.  More than I remember feeling with Will.  I'm definitely bigger this time around.  And I don't feel like I can eat more than a couple bites without being miserably full, but I'm still hungry.  Sleeping is also becoming more of a challenge, but for every bad night I have, I have a good one.  Chris is so great about letting me sleep on the weekends when he is home, so today I'm feeling semi-rested.  I also try to nap at least a couple times a week while Will does.

We went to the perinatologist (aka sono guy) and my OB last week.  They are still telling me I have Previa.  The sono guy told me that they do not want me to go into labor.  There is a concern with the placenta tearing away from my uterus and the bleeding being very bad.  He said that he'll do another sono at 34 weeks.  If the placenta hasn't miraculously moved, then he'd like to do an amniocentesis at 36.5 weeks and if the baby's lungs are developed enough (which they can tell from the amnio), he'd recommend that we go ahead and do the c-section at 36.5 weeks.  Well...that FREAKED me out a little.  As most of you know, Will was born at 36 weeks and 1 day.  He was perfectly fine and we were lucky that he never had to go to the NICU, but having a preemie is tough!  They are not strong enough to breast feed at first, they are so tiny, and being that it is the fall time and the beginning of flu season, the chances of them getting sick is increased.  All that being said, I really want to keep this little guy/girl in as long as we can!  So, when I saw my OB on Friday I was on a mission to get this across to her.  She was actually great!  She said that she wanted to see the next sono and talk to the sono guy, but that if I'm not having any complications she'd rather monitor me and try to get me to 38 weeks before we do the c-section.  I like this plan A LOT more!  We've gone ahead and moved the c-section up to October 12th (6 weeks from today!).   I will be 38 weeks and 1 day at that time.  Those two weeks should give the baby enough time to gain at least another 1.5 lbs and hopefully be stronger.  It would also avoid the amnio, which I like.

So...we know each appointment we have the possibility of another change and you just never know when the little one's time will be, but that is the "plan".    Please keep this baby in your prayers and while your at it - pray for a miracle that this placenta will move!   Then we could go back to our original plan and have the baby a little later.

Fun with the kids!

Our friends Katherine and Brian organized a dinner and get together for all our friends from college.  Wow, have things changed!  These are all the ladies I stumbled up and down Bourbon Street with in my college days, kept bars open past their closing time, and did many more things I am sure we are all glad we don't completely remember!  :)  It was so much fun to see everyone and even more fun to see all of our kids play together.  I think Katherine said the final count was 15 adults and 11 kids.  And all 11 of those kids have arrived in the past 4 years!  Here is a picture of the gang - we were able to actually get them in one shot!  They all had so much fun playing together and I think were all pretty exhausted by the end of the evening!  Thanks for the fun night!

Reese turns 3!

Reese turned 3 yesterday!  Reese is my best friend, Emily's, little girl and our Goddaughter.  We celebrated her birthday at Pump It Up in Frisco!  I think all the kids had a great time and it was so much fun to celebrate her big day!  I can't believe she is already 3.  Seems like she was born yesterday!  She has become a little girl and isn't a baby at all anymore.  Em and Rob - you have such a sweet little angel!  Thanks for including us in the celebration!

The birthday girl taking a needed drink after a lot of playtime!

Will pushing Reese in the Cozy Coupe.  We all agreed we have these at home and it was a much bigger hit at Pump It Up for some reason.

Chris and Will sliding down the big slide!  Will climbed to the top all by himself!

Fun with Friends!

Haircut and Lunch
Yesterday, Will and I joined Avery and Kristi for a haircut (for the kids) and lunch at Bubba's!  It was a lot of fun and I think Avery and Will were very entertained with each other!  They played Peek A Boo and the entire restaurant was watching them scream "A-BOO!"(not sure if that is good or bad...).   Thanks for a fun lunch KP and Avery!

Children's Museum
While the big boys played golf today, Kelli and I decided to take the little boys to the Dallas Children's Museum.  I've been wanting to go for a while and I have to say I think it was a hit! Preston and Will ran around everywhere.  Their favorites were definitely the fire truck and the water room.  I think they would have "driven" the truck all day and they were SOAKED after playing in the water!   Thanks for a fun Saturday, Kel and Pre Pre (Will's way of saying Preston).

Coaches Night - It's time for AGGIE FOOTBALL!!

We went to Texas A&M Coaches Night to hear from Coach Mike Sherman and to get pumped up for A&M football!  It was fun to run into old friends and to hear the excitement people have about Aggie football!  You have to love that regardless of past seasons, everyone is always excited to start a new one.  And it is fun to see old players and alumni together to support the school.

Here is a picture of Chris, Joe, and Coach Sherman.  Joe literally ran to him and stopped him as he was quickly headed out the door to catch a plane.  Of course, I didn't have the camera out and had to dig in my purse to find it!  Thank goodness he was a little patient!  :)

Wedding weekend

A couple weeks ago we went to Austin for the weekend to celebrate and attend the wedding of one of Chris's best friends, Chris Chase!  It was such a fun weekend!  It was the first time either of us had been to a Greek Orthodox wedding.  It was so much fun and what a celebration!  Here are a few pictures from the weekend!  Congratulations Chris and Margaret!  We are so happy for you guys and wish you a long, blissfully happy life together!

Pictures from the pre-wedding BBQ.  Such a fun afternoon!

The Happy Couple - Mr. and Mrs. Chase!
Trouble = Justin + Chris
View of the cliffs on Lake Austin.  To the left is a gondola people use to get down to their boat dock on the lake.  Amazing!

Pictures from the wedding festivities!

Plates to break and shots, shots, shots!  Too bad I couldn't partake.
But clearly Chris did!
Goats!  Yes, there were goats at the wedding.  Party of the "dowry" Margaret's family presented Chris.  The kids loved them!
The happy bride's reaction to the goats!
And Chris's shock to the goats!  So funny!
Greek folk dancers showed us all how to dance and got the party started!
